Girlhood.
Video Installation. 2025
This piece explores the emotional and symbolic weight of the mother figure and sisterhood through an immersive mini-gallery experience. Rooted in my own relationships with my mother and sister, the work extends beyond personal and biological definitions to reflect the broader essence of feminine bonds and their role in shaping human connection. Using found objects, archival footage, childhood artifacts, and photography, the project offers a multi-dimensional lens into the depth and complexity of these relationships.
At its core, the project is grounded in the belief that feminine relationships—whether maternal, sisterly, or chosen—are foundational to identity, resilience, and personal growth. In a world where women are often encouraged to compete, I want to celebrate the beauty of support, tenderness, and the quiet strength found in nurturing one another. This work is a tribute to the powerful, often underappreciated, ways women care for and uplift each other.
Much of my research has focused on the archetype of the mother figure—a symbol that spans cultures and histories. From goddesses of fertility and creation to contemporary representations of care and protection, the mother figure embodies more than physical motherhood. She represents resilience, rebirth, and the capacity to transform. Through this lens, the project positions the mother not as a singular role, but as a universal force of emotional power and creative energy.
Throughout the process of creating this piece, I found myself reflecting on the softness and intimacy of girlhood—the early memories of care, shared secrets, and emotional closeness that shaped my understanding of connection. There was something deeply nostalgic about handling childhood objects and old footage; it transported me back to a time when relationships felt pure, formative, and quietly powerful. This piece is as much about honoring that nostalgia as it is about exploring the present—a bridge between the innocence of girlhood and the strength of womanhood.

Death To Individualism is a first draft of a video game that I have created, the second draft is in the works
I came up with the concept for “Death to Individualism” by observing the rise of hyper-consumerism on social media and its connection to micro-trends, unrealistic beauty standards, and the loss of individuality. Social media platforms constantly push new trends, creating a cycle that pressures people, especially women, to keep up. This leads to buying low-quality, fast fashion items that quickly go out of style (or so we’re told). This work reflects a visible cultural shift driven by social media and society. The constant cycle of trends diminishes self-expression, as people are more likely to mimic what’s popular rather than develop their own style. By highlighting these issues, my work sheds light on the underlying societal pressures that are shaping our culture, encouraging people to think critically about their own choices and the broader impact of these trends on identity and the environment. “Death to Individualism” is my way of challenging societal norms that push conformity, standards often set by outdated ideas, and encouraging others to break free from them.
